Oswald Cobblepot, more widely known as The Penguin, will be played by actor Robin Lord Taylor (The Walking Dead). The character is described as;  ”a low-level psychopath for gangster Fish Mooney, and hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanor. He also has the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal.”

 

 

Alfred Pennyworth will be portrayed by actor Sean Pertwee (Camelot, Elementary, Equilibrium).  The character is described as a “tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, Pennyworth has loyally served the Wayne family. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne — the boy who will eventually become Batman.”

 

Actress Zabryna Guevara (Burn Notice) will portray Captain Essen.  Presumably this character is in fact Sarah Essen, who’s most notable comic book appearance came in Frank Miller’s graphic novel “Batman: Year One.” For the show, the character is described as; “Detective Gordon’s boss at the Gotham City Police Department Homicide Squad. Essen balances the two worlds of police and politics with a Machiavellian skill that’s as much corporate litigator as cop.”

 

Jim Gordon’s fiancée, Barbara Kean will be portrayed by actress Erin Richards (Misfits). This character is described as, a sophisticated emergency doctor, Kean stands by her husband amid the corrupt world of Gotham.”

Archer to jedyna chyba obowiązkowa animacja dla starszego widza

No i nie zajmuje dużo czasu. Jeden sezon to +/- 10 odcinków po 30 minut. No i każdy sezon jak na razie trzymał wysoki poziom (no może 3 trochę słabszy).

Nowe wiadomości nt serialu luźno opartego na kultowym "Fargo" (1996) braci Coen.

Though it received critical praise and many positive reviews, the Coen Brothers Inside Llewyn Davis has been practically shut out this awards season. Fortunately, the Coens have another project on the radar: FX’s upcoming series Fargo, loosely based on the brothers’ Academy Award-winning 1996 film of the same name.

 

FX has released the first teaser trailer for the show (above), giving us a quick glimpse at the icy drama that is to come.Joel and Ethan Coen are executive producing the series with Warren Littlefield and Noah Hawley, who is also responsible for writing the series.The drama is set for a limited, 10-episode run, similar to FX’s American Horror Story. The short commitment has allowed the show-runners to lure top-tier talent while still leaving the door open for a potential anthology treatment that would expand on the town with a new set of characters.

 

Billy Bob Thornton will play Lorne Malvo, “a rootless, manipulative man who meets a small town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction.“  Martin Freeman is Lester Nygaard, a character loosely inspired by Jerry Lundegaard, the character played by William H. Macy in the original film. Lester is “henpecked by his wife,” but his life is changed when Malvo comes to town.

 

Also in the cast is relative newcomer Allison Toleman as Deputy Molly Solverson, who seems to be filling the role based on Frances McDormand’s Marge Gunderson. And finally, Adam Bernstein of Breaking Bad directed the first episode, an appropriate choice fitting the theme of a mismatched duo teaming up for a little corruption.

 

The teaser is quite simple, showing us Thornton simply scraping ice and snow off of his car – a familiar sight for many of us this winter – while The Ames Brothers’ “It Only Hurts For a Little While” eerily plays on his radio. As the Ames brothers sing “it only hurts for a little while, that’s what they tell me, just wait and see,” we can’t help wonder if the lyrics are referring to the intense and lengthy anti(pipi)ation for the show (or perhaps even death by wood chipper).

 

The clip certainly has the cold – the so very, very, cold – ambiance from the first film down pat. And though his appearance is quick, Thornton pulls off the sinister look on his face.
